THE HAMPTONS GOSSIP
****
Story By: Edward Callaghan

The Stars Come Out For Super Saturday
Beth Ostrosky Stern
The grand daddy of all yard sales, Super Saturday now in its 13th year, offered shopaholics a dizzying array of pricey designer duds at bargain basement prices. Smart shoppers spring for the extra money for an hour early bird preview at the annual event to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Event founder Donna Karan was aided once again by Kelly Ripa and Ariel Foxman as well as first timer Ashley Greene. According to the ladies, and a few of the gents in attendance - their were plenty of deep discount and something for everyone. No one left without several stuffed shopping bags. Reportedly, they raised ove $3 million. Helping to fill OCRF's coffers were Beth Stern, Alexandra Lebenthal, Christie Brinkley, Christy Turlington, The Kardashian Girls, Shoshanna Gruss, Lizzie Tisch with hubby Jonathan, Matthew Settle, Ali Wentworth, Betsey Johnson and daughter Lulu, Edie Falco, Judith Nathan, Nicole Miller, Mark Feurstein and Tinsley Mortimer.
Joe Biden Loves The Hamptons
Joe Biden
Vice President Joe Biden sure seems to like Southampton. For the second time this season, the Veep was spotted attending Mass at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Church and later on Main Street where he did a little shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue. We can only guess he was buying a little gift for wife Jill as Saks has no men's department to speak of. Lucky girl!
Tinsley Mortimer Draws Raves
Tinsley Mortimer
Her reality show life may be kaput but The Daily Front Row notes that designer Tinsley Mortimer drew raves for her latest collection for Japanese handbag company Samantha Thavasa at the store?s New York boutique on Madison Avenue The crowd reportedly delighted in her fall lineup, a girly take on ?80s-inspired bags and clutches that would be just as at home at a hair metal arena rock show as they would on the set of ?Gossip Girl.? It?s that bridging of high and low; a dash of glam rock mixed with feminine chic that has become Mortimer?s signature at the label. This marks her fifth collection for Samantha Thavasa.
Martha Stewart Sales On Fire
Martha Stewart
Make up by Martha Stewart? Martha Stewart's name is showing up in a growing number of stores, including Macy's, The Home Depot and PetSmart, and her company's merchandise sales are up more than 30% in the second quarter of this year. "We have unlimited openness to listen to new business opportunities," which may soon include cosmetics, said Robin Marino, merchandising chief at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, reports LIMA Smart Brief. Despite Stewart?s past personal issues and her jail stay, It seems it hasn?t hurt her as sales are very strong for anything with her name on it.
Anna Wintour's Townhouse Bash
Donna Karan
Vogue Editrix extraordinaire Anna Wintour tossed a little dinner party in her West Village townhouse and scores of Hamptons? heavies turned up ? even if it meant driving back to New York City. Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Tory Burch, Vera Wang, Harvey Weinstein and wife Georgina Chapman, Andre Balazs, Diane von Furstenberg were spotted entering Sullivan Street which was cordoned off and crawling with cops. Why the fuss? - Just a little guest appearance by the POTUS as in President of the United States Barack Obama. Wintour organized the fundraising fete for The Democratic National Committee and Obama helped pull in over $1.4 million from just 50 guests.
Vera Wang Delighted By Chelsea Clinton
Vera Wang
Speaking of Vera Wang, word is she is over the moon having been selected to design former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton?s wedding gown and her bridal party as well. Chelsea looked stunning in the strapless confection that looked both contemporary and classic. Mom Hillary stuck to old friend Oscar de la Renta. But that wasn?t the only celeb news at Chez Wang. Vera also did the honors for Alicia Keyes marriage to producer Swizz Beatz on the Mediterranean. Keyes looked ravishing in a one shoulder Grecian goddess gown. The only problem for this happy couple is who?s Grammy Award goes on the mantel.

Dining With The Stars
Jon Bon Jovi
Outdoor dining is one of the best facets of life in The Hamptons. Just ask Mark Feuerstein star of Royal Pains who was spotted enjoying dinner at in the courtyard at Rowdy Hall in East Hampton Sunday night with his parents, or Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea who enjoyed a lunch at Serafina in East Hampton on Monday afternoon. They sat on the patio enjoying iced teas and salads.
The Must Have Hamptons item by diSalvo Interiors ? An outdoor shower
So your friends bought that huge mansion on the secluded acreage in the woods - we found the perfect housewarming gift for the summer season at the just opened Southampton Hospital Designer Showhouse that will get you invited back again and again ? an eco-sensitive outdoor shower
The covered outdoor space was designed to introduce the vibrant South Beach lifestyle and Latin influences to the predominately white and neutral palettes that is soooooo Hamptons. The outdoor shower was designed to incorporate the natural wooded background so that the views would not be obstructed.
The 7? Bamboo stalks are positioned in portable holders so that the shower could be dismantled in the off season. The natural wicker shower is a perfect unit that was practical but selected because of its green properties. The custom canopy was designed to gracefully frame the outline of the shower enclosure in a Hermes Orange trimmed in Brown welt.
The shower floor was designed with natural slate integrated with smooth natural stone allowing for the shower water to filter perfectly into the grass. The floor can be reinstalled easily for the summer season as the design is portable as well. The approximate cost starts at $4500.00.
This was just one of the many creative and beautiful design concepts presented by some of the country's greatest interior design talents. The Hampton Designer Showhouse Presented by Traditional Home Magazine benefits Southampton Hospital and runs through September 5, 2010. The hose is located at 129 Stoney Hill Road, Sag Harbor and was built by Frank Bodenchak and Edge Real Estate. Sponsors: Decorati, XTV Open House, NYC, One Kings Lane.
