 Katherine HeiglHollywood star Katherine Heigl has kicked her cigarette habit. The star says she's gone without her daily nicotine fix for over a month now. The actress has been desperately trying to wean herself off the addiction for months after realizing smoking was taking over her life. She previously said, "I started smoking when I was 24, because I'm an idiot. I don't enjoy it so much now, because I've become such a slave to it. I hate planning my life around when I'm getting a cigarette." But Heigl has not puffed on a cigarette since quitting tobacco in July, and her health has already been given a boost. Katherine Heigl keeps it classy in a black pantsuit at the 2009 People?s Choice Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Wednesday (January 7) in Los Angeles.
The 30-year-old actress picked up the PCA trophy for Favorite Comedy Movie for 27 Dresses, beating out Get Smart and Mamma Mia!.

She may be a big Hollywood star with a hit show and a slew of successful movies under her belt, but Katherine Heigl is really just an animal lover at heart. And yesterday (November 9) the “Grey’s Anatomy” babe was spotted visiting the Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest Pit Bull rescue center in the country, with her mother.

Katherine Heigl is taking some time out from her schedule to relax on the snow-white beach at Cancun.
Katherine has everything she needs to refuel - sun couch, sun hat, sun glasses and two cocktail glasses. The second is for hubby Josh Walker, a singer and songwriter, and for Katherine, who wed in December, being married remains blissful: "With the marriage came this feeling of peace and security for me."
That can be seen in her already. Love life is good, career is good.She was nominated again for the 'outstanding supporting actress' Emmy for her role in 'Grey's Anatomy', an award she won last year, but this time declined to be short-listed. She sparked a furious row with the show's writers by saying: "I do not feel I was given the material this season to warrant a nomination."
