 Nicole Kidman thinks being stylish means never "compromising" on who you are.
The 42-year-old actress won two prizes at the InStyle Women of Style Awards in Sydney on Tuesday night. She was unable to attend the ceremony as she is filming new movie Just Go With It in Hawaii, and sent her mother Janelle and sister Antonia to collect the award on her behalf.
Nicole also recorded a video acceptance speech, in which she thanked the fashion magazine for giving her the prizes, and shared her thoughts on the definition of style.
"Style means having a voice, it means not compromising who you are because of what people say; it means standing proud, and knowing that that sometimes you are going to go in and out of fashion, but still, staying true to yourself," Nicole said.
Australian InStyle editor Kerrie McCallum said Nicole was one of the most fashionable and stylish women in Australia. She praised the actress' long career, charity work and personal life, declaring her to be truly "unique" and "special".
"With a career spanning over 25 years, and featuring in more than 30 films, Nicole Kidman is simply an iconic Australian female,'' McCallum said in a statement.
"An international star, Australia's only winner of a Best Actress Oscar, a passionate charity campaigner, a proud wife and a working mother of three - Nicole Kidman juggles all roles with charm, timeless style and a unique sense of intrigue."
Nicole has 22-month-old daughter Sunday Rose with her husband Keith Urban, and two adopted children with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.

Sexy mom Nicole Kidman has been crowned Australia's most fashionable star after landing two prizes at the country's InStyle Awards in Sydney.
The actress won InStyle magazine's Readers' Choice trophy, as well as topping the news/entertainment category, triumphing over Claudia Karvan and Jessica Rowe.
Nicole Kidman was unable to attend the event as she is busy filming new movie Just Go With It with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.
But the sexy celebrity recorded a video message in which she dedicated her awards to her mother, Janelle.
Congrats to Nicole Kidman. She has always been a stylish babe and people love to copy her style. Of late, Nicole has been linked to Jennifer Aniston's dramatic weight loss. Hardly a fair statement...

Sexy mom Nicole Kidman has joined the cast of the romantic slapstick flick romantic movie "Just Go with It." The movie is due to start filming in Los Angeles this month.
Originally titled "Pretend Wife," the film sees Adam Sandler recruiting Jennifer Aniston to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife in order to land the girl of his dreams.
Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker also on board. Nicole Kidman's role is expected to be small.
This is a good chance for Nicole Kidman's fans to see her funny side as the sexy celebrity usually prefers dramatic roles which challenges her acting skills.

Sexy mom Nicole Kidman and hubby Keith Urban have followed up on their efforts to help Haiti citizens ravaged by the devastating earthquake last month.
The country star told Pennsylvania radio station CatCountry 96 that he and Nicole Kidman have decided to focus their aid efforts on the region's children.
“We’re actually going to be funding a school down there for the next five years,†he said. “It’s in Port-Au-Prince. The kids will also have one hot meal a day. They’ll have all of their medical taken care of by the school, and clothing, as well."
Nicole Kidman and Keith, who have a daughter Sunday Rose, were two of the many superstars who took part in January's Hope for Haiti Now telethon.

Sexy mom Nicole Kidman admitted that she doesn't have "issues" with her weight, thanks to her height.
Speaking to She magazine, the Oscar winner said: "As Keith's a musician there are pitstops at Wendy's. But I'm six foot tall, so it's not weight that's an issue for me, but things like cholesterol."
The 42-year-old Australian celebrity also revealed that she has always been an avid runner, saying: "It's what my dad taught us. He's a marathon runner. He's 71 and goes on ten-mile runs. He takes Sunday hiking on his back for hours."
And just to show that Nicole Kidman's healthy living is for real, here she is toting a red yoga mat after attending fitness classes in Los Angeles.
